After a spell of wet and cool weather, Oakes, North Dakota farmer Scott German says harvest is starting to pick up again. Between rain showers, farmers were able to make forward progress on the corn. “There wasn’t much progress on soybeans, as harvest is maybe at 30 to 40 percent done. Corn harvest is further along.” German expects an average corn and soybean crop to be harvested in the area. “Corn moisture is a bit high, but most are happy with the crop. There are some mold and disease issues in the beans, with some drowned out here and there.
