More hogs in China are contracting the African swine fever. As of Monday, there are reports of a case impacting almost 20,000 pigs, the largest farm yet to report the virus. The Chinese government is taking emergency measures to prevent the spread of African swine fever. The highly contagious swine disease has been identified in nine Chinese provinces. The transportation of live animals is shut down and pigs found within three kilometers of an infected area will be destroyed. Learn more about the virus.
