As of October 1, Kevin Skunes turns over the reins of the National Corn Growers Association to Lynn Crisp of Nebraska. Skunes, who farms at Arthur, North Dakota, will move into the chairmanship role for one year. “It’s been a once in a lifetime opportunity for a farmer from North Dakota to advocate for the corn industry and agriculture as a whole. I’m very proud to have done this. It has been a tumultuous year, but I’ve enjoyed it immensely and it has been a great run.” Two other North Dakotans have led the NCGA, Wallie Hardie of Fairmount in 1996-1997 and Bart Schott of Kulm in 2010-2011.
