A Taiwanese trade delegation made a stop in the Twin Cities Thursday and signed a letter of intent to purchase more than a billion dollars of soybeans from farmers in Minnesota and Iowa. The group pledged to purchase between 3.2 million and 3.9 million metric tons of soybeans between 2018 and 2019. Two months ago, the Minnesota Department of Agriculture led a trade team to Taiwan with hopes of driving more sales for commodities from the state.
