As harvest progresses, Pioneer field agronomist Zach Fore says management will be important. “We had a year where there’s been a lot of stress on crops. Harvest management is something we’ve been talking about already for probably one month or more, especially in terms of corn and standability.These dry conditions are definitely impacting standability.” Fore says there are factors to consider when determining which field to harvest first. “Are the stalks hanging in there? Is there any ear drop occurring? When those are questionable, you want to aim for an early harvest.”
