When it comes to trade, University of Minnesota Grain Marketing Specialist Ed Usset says short term pain may become long-term pain. “I am very concerned that even if tomorrow we all kissed and made up and got back to business as usual, it’s not going to be business as usual. It’s going to be something less than business as usual. That’s unfortunate. That’s a long-term impact.” Usset acknowledges a crop disaster may be needed to upset the supply-demand balance.
