A company based in Washington State will operate and maintain the Red River Biorefinery in Grand Forks. The NAES Corporation has expertise in the power plant business. Wisconsin-based BioMass Solutions owns this proposed next-generation facility, which is designed to produce 16.5 million gallons of ethanal per year from sugarbeet tailings, potato waste and other organic byproducts. The Red River Biorefinery is scheduled to begin commercial operations in late 2019.
