According to American Crystal Sugar Company general agronomist Tyler Grove, sugarbeet pre-pile harvest is progressing well. “So far, we’ve come through about 1.5 million tons of beets,” says Grove. “We have a variation of yields. The average is at 30.7, and sugar content is about 17.4. Of course, that fluctuates with the rainfall from time to time.”
