Speaking at the Red River Farm Network’s Market Panel, Van Ahn and Company CEO Jim Emter said it’s easy to blame the trade war for the low soybean prices, but there is still a huge supply issue. “We’ve got the potential for a record bean yield. Whether it’s a 500 million, 600 million or 700 million bushel carry out, even if we get a deal, we’ve still got circumstances that are somewhat limited,” says Emter. “You can ask yourself, if we had a normal circumstance and we had last year’s yield, where should price be right now?”
