The North Dakota Department of Agriculture is investigating additional possible cases of Palmer amaranth. Plants found in McIntosh County, near where the first confirmed case was found, have been sent on for additional DNA testing. Farmers in that area are encouraged to scout and if suspicious weeds are found, should contact local weed officers, extension agents or other experts. The Agriculture Department is hosting meetings with local landowners to discuss scouting techniques.
