The Red River Farm Network kicked off its forum line-up at the Big Iron Farm Show with a discussion about trade, the farm bill and more. North Dakota Senator Heidi Heitkamp heard from farmers and ranchers in the crowd, who expressed concerns about high basis levels. “We can’t be one size fits all, which exactly what that package is,” said Heitkamp. “I heard a farmer today say his local (soybean) basis is going up to $2.00.
