It’s been an interesting year for the U.S. soybean crop. McGillicuddy – Corrigan Agronomics independent agronomist Karen Corrigan says weather is causing a few challenges in the Midwest. “There was a lot of rain in some areas of Illinois and Iowa prior to planting. There are some decisions made not to put on pre-herbicides, which turned out not to be a smart decision,” says Corrigan. “Gall midge has come into eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. Tar spot is fairly new. Gall midge is definitely new.” Corrigan was part of the Peterson Farms Seed Field Day held September 6.
