The Brazilian government has raised the minimum truck freight rates by an average of five percent. The government stepped in with a plan to address freight rates to end a trucker strike in late May. Brazilian farm groups are upset, saying this move will increase farm input costs and consumer prices. A lawsuit has been filed challenging the new freight pricing policy.
