Not surprisingly, the largest soybean production states will receive the largest share of the USDA Market Facilitation Program payments. According to American Farm Bureau Market Intel, Illinois farmers will receive more than $596 million, followed by Iowa at $576 million. As a large soybean and pork production state, Minnesota farmers will share $340 million in Market Facilitation Program payments. The direct payments going to South Dakota farmers will total nearly $249 million and North Dakota farmers will receive $224 million.
