A North Dakota working group is preparing a proposal to host new locations for USDA’s Economic Research Service and the National Institute of Food and Agriculture. Earlier this month, Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue said these agencies would be moving out of the Washington, D.C. area. North Dakota Senator John Hoeven organized this working group, which includes North Dakota State University, chamber of commerce and economic development officials. September 14 is the the deadline for submitting a proposal to USDA.
