South Dakota Wheat Commission Executive Director Reid Christopherson says South Dakota’s wheat production report didn’t change much from expectations in Friday’s USDA report. “The reports are probably in line with what we’re going to see coming out of this harvest. We’re very quickly approaching time to plant the next year’s crop of winter wheat. The harvest experience is certainly going to influence decisions that producers are going to make in the next 45 days.” Christopherson tells farmers to watch their marketing opportunities. “Knowledge of cost of production, marketing opportunities, watching for those brief rallies and take advantage of that. Hopefully, it will be a profitable operation.”
