NDSU Extension soybean plant pathologist Sam Markell and University of Minnesota Extension soybean plant pathologist Dean Malvick have developed a soybean disease identification tool for the northern soybean growing region. Malvick says the tool is similar to what other regions have done. “We thought something that folks can hold in their hands and look at good quality photos to help them identify which diseases they’re seeing in the field would be really helpful. It’s been very well received. This sweeping disease I.D. card set was just finished early last winter. They’ve been very well received. So far, many people have used them have on them useful and they’ve been liking them.”
