The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative hosted public hearings on proposed China tariffs Tuesday and Wednesday. Of the tariffs authorized for $50 billion of Chinese products, tariffs on $34 billion are currently in effect. Tariffs on the remaining $16 billion are the subject of the public hearings. There are 11 panel discussions in the two days of hearings, featuring witnesses from the Steel Manufacturers Association and North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers.
