Soybean aphids are starting to show up in the region. The populations are not at threshold levels yet, but Pioneer Seed territory manager Jim Kokett says the soybean crop should be scouted. “The university recommended threshold is 250-aphids-per-plant. I think we need to be aware of potential resistance and over-applying insecticides so work with your consultants and check it out yourself to make sure you are at threshold before making an application.”
