Crystal, North Dakota farmer Brian O’Toole says the local crops look pretty good. “I don’t want to jinx myself by saying that. The rain will help the row crops. The wheat is made; the rain will just speed up the ripening process at this point.” Kelly O’Toole is also a partner at O’Toole Seed Farm, which hosted a plot tour event Thursday night. O’Toole says local plot information is important. “You need to know what varieties perform where; whether it is yield, protein or standability, there are so many factors.”
