In a policy update during the 2018 Minnesota Pork Lenders Meeting, Minnesota Pork Producers Association CEO David Preisler said trade tariffs were is top-of-mind. “We’re hopeful we can get this behind us. That’s not that far away, but yet our market looks pretty dismal here as we look at fourth quarter and first quarter of next year.” Preisler say the 20 percent tariff on U.S. pork in Mexico hits farmers on a local level.
