While the planting schedule was behind the norm for many farmers, the soybean crop has caught up and is ahead of last year’s pace. Across all crops, NDSU Extension weed scientist Kirk Howatt says weed control has been very effective. “Even where we don’t seem to have the level of control we would have expected, looking at it next to the untreated check we’ve got delays of emergence, we’ve got stunted plants and so that really opens up that post emergence window of application.”
