USDA has released guidelines for implementing changes to farm labor housing eligibility. In a statement, Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue said “finding suitable housing for temporary agricultural workers has been a challenge for American farmers and ranchers.” Under the Consolidated Appreciations Act of 2018, farm laborers legally admitted to the United States with a work visa are now eligible for state-inspected housing. The application period is now open and will close August 27.
