The Canadian government has officially responded to the U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum. The retaliatory tariffs target a variety of U.S. products, including U.S. beef. The tariffs on U.S. beef total $170 million. The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association released a statement, saying the tariffs were “clearly avoidable” and will hurt Canadian consumers and U.S. farmers and ranchers.
