During a campaign speech in Fargo Wednesday, President Donald Trump said good trade deals take time to develop and the U.S. is bargaining from a no-lose position. “When we’re $500 billion down, they say Trump is starting a trade war. I say no the trade war ended a long time ago. The United States lost because our leaders didn’t take care of our people and our companies. So we’re not starting a trade war, but we’ll finish it.” Trump says even our closest allies have been using tariffs unfairly against the U.S. pointing to the Canadian wheat grading system as an example.
