World Weather Incorporated Senior Ag Meteorologist Drew Lerner says frequent showers and thunderstorms are expected in the next week. Lerner says there could be some hail and damaging winds with those storms. “There’s going to be a ridge of high pressure possibly developing as we get out towards the middle and the latter part of next week. And if that ridge develops as advertised it may give us some more heat. This is also going to raise the potential for some locally strong to severe thunderstorms.” Lerner still isn’t too concerned with the excess moisture in southern Minnesota. “Obviously, we need to see some some greater warmth, a little less precipitation there and through a fair amount of the Midwest. I think it’s a little too soon to be worried about excess moisture.”
