House Agriculture Committee Ranking Member Collin Peterson voted against the farm bill, saying it will leave farmers and ranchers “vulnerable.” While the Senate version isn’t perfect, Peterson told the Red River Farm Network the Senate language will prevail. “It is going to have the support of the three of us (Peterson, Senate Ag Committee Chairman Pat Roberts and Ranking Member Debbie Stabenow) and it will be three-against-one. The only way they can hold it up is if the House insists on some poison pill like they’ve done so far and that will just ball the whole thing up and nothing will happen.” RRFN’s Farm Bill Focus coverage is sponsored, in part, by the National Farmers Union.
