NDSU Extension has named Dr. Greg Lardy as interim director. Lardy currently serves as NDSU Animal Sciences Department head and carries a 30 percent appointment as associate vice president for Agricultural Affairs. The Sentinel Butte native says his roots run deep in Extension. “Some of my earliest memories include going to the county office with my dad and 4-H projects. This role I’m stepping into feels comfortable in many ways because of my background.” Current Extension Director Chris Boerboom will help transition Lardy, who begins July 3. Moving into a legislative session, Lardy says the state budget will continue to be a source of concern and a primary focus for Extension. “We feel the service brings incredible value to North Dakota citizens and want to make some inroads with stakeholders.”
