Silveus Financial held an agricultural speaker series Monday afternoon in Jamestown, North Dakota. Farmers heard about trade relations and a post planting market outlook from Chicago broker Mark Borrett. Silveus Financial founder Cy Monley says it’s important farmers understand these factors on both a domestic and international level. “There’s so many factors that drive the price of corn, soybeans or wheat. Given these factors, you have to follow how the world is moving to understand outcomes,” says Monley. “I like what’s going on in the farm community, and I think we’re on a bold move for the next five-to-ten years.” To wrap up the afternoon’s events, former Minnesota Vikings tight end and Carrington, North Dakota native Jim Kleinsasser spoke about growing up on the family farm and how those experiences transferred to the football field.
