Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt met with farmers in Reliance, South Dakota Wednesday. National Corn Growers Association board director Keith Alverson, who farms at Chester, South Dakota, says Pruitt remains vague. “The margins are pinched at ethanol plants. We’re seeing lost demand on the corn. Farmers are really getting frustrated with these handouts (small refinery waivers) to the oil companies.”
