Warmer temperatures are causing soils to crust in parts of the region. University of Minnesota Extension Crops Educator David Nicolai said “the rains prior to the Memorial Day weekend resulted in probably a little bit late emergence.” Nicolai says post-emergence weed control is next on the to-do list for growers. There’s tall waterhemp, ragweed and lambsquarters popping up in areas.
