Most farmers were able to secure operating loans for the 2018 growing season. However, Minnesota Farm Service Agency Administrator Joe Martin says there was strong interest in the FSA guaranteed and direct loans. A proactive approach is recommended. “If things aren’t looking so rosy, procrastination is not a good strategy. The best strategy always is to be communicating with your banker and us if you think you might have issues making loan payments.”
