According to the Drought Monitor, severe drought conditions continue in north-central North Dakota, along the Canadian border. Moderate drought extends through a large share of northern North Dakota and most of western North Dakota and South Dakota. The recent rains between Aberdeen and Jamestown resulted in a significant reduction in the area described as abnormally dry. Most of the northern half of Minnesota is dealing with unusually dry conditions. Extreme drought remains the rule in portions of Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma.
