American Crystal Sugar general agronomist Tyler Grove says sugarbeet planting is virtually done for American Crystal Sugar Company. Weed control now becomes the focus. “A lot of the sprayers are getting ready to go into the fields. Getting some pre-emergence herbicides and lay-bys out there with the rain activation would be great timing. Right after that, I’d anticipate we’ll have post-applications going on shortly. The warm conditions we’ve had are pushing weeds along nicely.”
