Statistics Canada’s stocks of principal field crops report says as of March 31, total wheat stocks are at 16.4 million tonnes. This is down 3.9 percent from one year ago. Canola stocks were up 14.4 percent to 9.1 million tonnes. Dry pea stocks are up 13 percent and lentil stocks are up 35 percent from one year ago. Canada’s soybean stocks are 39 percent more than one year ago at 2.6 million tonnes and corn stocks are up four percent to 8.7 million tonnes. Glacier Farm Media Director of Markets and Weather Bruce Burnett said there were no big surprises in the Stats Can numbers.
