USDA forecasts this year’s U.S. winter wheat production at 1.2 billion bushels, which is down six percent from the 2017 crop. The average yield is forecast at 48 bushels per acre. This is down from 50 bushels per acre last year. Hard Red Winter Wheat production is expected to be down 14 percent from one year-ago at 647 million bushels.
