Gordley and Associates Dale Thorenson anticipates a close vote when the farm bill comes to the House floor. “There won’t be any Democratic votes for it. They can only lose about 20 Republican votes with the vacancies they have in the House. It will be close. It remains to be seen if these amendments will prevail or not. There are amendments targeting the sugar programs, the commodity title and crop insurance. It will be interesting, as it always is.” Thorenson says the different versions of the bill won’t be what matters; it will be what happens in the conference committee.
