Rain is in the forecast for much of the North Dakota and northern Minnesota areas this week. North Dakota Agricultural Weather Network Interim Director Daryl Ritchison says there will literally be rain everywhere this week. The best times for rain are into Tuesday morning and Friday. “The rain Wednesday and Thursday looks a little spottier. Most areas will see rain this week. Amounts will vary. Some areas will see little. A few spots could have more than one inch of rain, but most will fall somewhere in-between.”
Ritchison says there’s a lot of talk on dry weather this month, but he doesn’t think rain will be much of an issue after Memorial Day. There will be frost in the area Thursday and Saturday, with temperatures mostly in the 60s. “We probably won’t see another day as warm as Monday until next week at some point. The area I’m looking at where things are tracking to get the least looks to be the northern end of the Red River Valley. We’ll see. The area that’s the driest now may still be the driest when we finish the end of this week.”
