North Dakota farmers are making planting progress. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Ag Statistics Service says 20 percent of the spring wheat crop is planted, which is behind last year’s 41 percent complete and the average. Seven percent of durum wheat is planted. The sugarbeet crop is making progress at 66 percent complete, which is ahead of average. The corn and canola crops are seven percent complete. Ten percent of the potatoes are planted, which is near last year’s 13 percent and behind average.
