South Dakota farmers are getting the spring wheat crop in the ground. Farmers have 51 percent of the spring wheat crop planted, with six percent of the crop emerged, which is well behind last year. USDA’s National Ag Statistics Service says South Dakota’s winter wheat crop is rated 89 percent fair to good. Six percent of South Dakota’s corn crop is planted, which is well behind last year’s 28 percent complete. One percent of the soybean crop is planted and 47 percent of oats are planted, with eight percent emerged.
