The commodity markets have maintained a more mellow tone. Ag News Daily market analyst Mike Pearson says, in this case, no news is good news. However, a couple additional market factors have been seen. Over the past two weeks, the U.S. Dollar Index has climbed about two points. “Which is one of the largest increases we’ve seen in quite a while,” says Pearson. “Basically, U.S. crops are getting more expensive relative to those produced around the world. Speculative investors aren’t as willing to jump in.” Pearson adds the Wheat Quality Council’s Winter Wheat Tour provided some support throughout the week as well.
