A study commissioned by the Soy Transportation Coalition and conducted by Texas A&M University shows improvements can be made in how infrastructure repair money is spent. STC Executive Director Mike Steenhoek says improvement can be made on the cost side of the equation. “Many times, the focus tends to center on providing more funding, the government writing a bigger check. We certainly would argue we need more funding for infrastructure. However, there’s a lot of room for improvement on the cost side of the equation, not just the revenue. We have a lot of waste and construction delays. Our research highlights this problem.”
