The Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources Committee on Buffers, Soils and Drainage reviewed public comments and voted unanimously to reject the draft amendment to the administrative penalty order for buffer implementation Thursday. The action ends any further action on the buffer penalty proposal. Earlier this week, BWSR Executive Director John Jaschke apologized to Minnesota landowners and farmers for releasing a draft proposal which was not in the spirit of the law and was created without engagement with key stakeholders.
