Megan Overby joined the Red River Farm Network (RRFN) team in July of 2017. She has North Dakota roots, being raised on a third-generation diversified crop and beef cattle farm near Petersburg. Growing up she was involved with all aspects of Ternquist Farms, as well as 4-H and showing livestock.
In 2016, Megan received a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science and a minor in agricultural communications from North Dakota State University (NDSU). The NDSU graduate got her start in farm broadcasting working as a farm and ranch news intern at KFGO Radio in Fargo while completing her degree. This allowed her to establish agriculture relationships throughout the tri-state area.
Before joining the RRFN, Megan served farmers and ranchers in a public relations role at the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation. She is a current National Association of Farm Broadcasting member. In 2019, she was among 20 journalists selected by the National Press Foundation for the Food and Agriculture fellowship program.
Beyond Reporting Agriculture’s Business, you can find Megan farming and ranching alongside her husband Tanner near Binford, ND. Whether it’s checking crops or working cattle, her camera is usually within arm’s reach.
