Hot and dry conditions are pushing crops ahead of normal across eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. BASF Technical Service Representative Ken Diebert said the season is progressing rapidly. The early harvest of small grains is an indicator of the accelerated crop calendar. “We’re probably a couple of weeks ahead of normal in some cases.” Dry conditions have limited disease pressure in some areas, although growers continue to monitor for white mold, bacterial leaf blight and frogeye leaf spot.
