Pre-pile sugarbeet harvest is underway for Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative. Wyndmere, North Dakota farmer Carson Klosterman said the first beets are being lifted, with early sugar content showing some promise. “The beets have been hanging in there,” Klosterman said. “Nothing super exciting right now. I’d say we’re in the low 20s. Hopefully the sugar should be on the higher end of the percentage, seeing as it has been dry.” Dry conditions are also taking a toll on corn and soybeans. Klosterman said sunflowers are looking good, but the crop will need to finish well to meet expectations.
