The North Dakota Grazing Lands Coalition’s Leopold Conservation Award Tour showcased more than innovative grazing practices. It also highlighted the value of collaboration between producers, Extension, and conservation organizations. NDSU Extension Livestock Specialist Karl Hoppe says tours like this expose producers to new ways of improving their operations. “It’s always wonderful to see alternative ways or different ways of thinking about how to farm in North Dakota, especially when you start looking at soil health, soil quality, and how you can get livestock involved with it.”
