When the rains moved through North Dakota late in the week, western Traill County missed any meaningful rainfall. Clifford farmer Brent Kohls called the latest storms “kind of a swing and a miss.” The soybean fields are beginning to show signs of stress. “It’s got some challenges and the forecast just doesn’t seem to want to rain for us.” Aphid populations have increased slightly, but treatment thresholds have not been reached. Barley harvest is underway.
