The Wheat Quality Council Spring Wheat and Durum Tour wrapped up with a final average yield estimate of 48 bushels per acre. That’s down slightly from last year’s 48.3 bushels per acre average. The average durum yield was 48.2 bushels per acre. Longtime tour participant Brian Walker said the crop generally exceeded expectations. “The wheat looks great. It has good stands, it’s clean, and while there’s a little disease and a few pests, overall it looks very, very nice,” Walker said.
