In a big move for U.S. ethanol, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill for E15 sales in the state. “There’s a lot of environmental concern in California,” said American Coalition of Ethanol Chief Marketing Officer Ron Lamberty. “But there’s also a big concern about gas prices, so there’s a double bonus that 15 percent ethanol not only reduces emissions a little further but also decreases cost.” California could lead to a domino effect with other states allowing sales of E15. “California is ten percent of the volume in the country, and if they don’t sell it in California, there might be other states that wonder why they’re not selling it there.”
